This rugged saltwater-resistant Current Sensor converts Amps into MilliVolts. Rated for 75 Amps continuous. 3% Accuracy. Makes any digital voltmeter into a high-current Ammeter.
This saltwater-resistant current sensor turns any digital voltmeter into a high-current Amp-meter for monitoring the current of your motor. Connect the sensor in series with either the (+) or (-) motor lead using the large brass conductors (the holes accept 5/16" hardware). Then attach a digital voltmeter using wires or standard banana plugs (0.75" spacing accepts dual plugs). Set the meter to read milliVolts (mV). The meter will then show the motor current in Amperes (1 Amp = 1 mV). Accuracy is within 3% and is not affected by saltwater splash or immersion. The sensor is self-powered and requires no batteries. Can be used at up to 75 Amps continuously without overheating, though the unit does get hot to the touch at high current levels. Measures DC, AC, or high-frequency PWM "chopped" current waveforms. Size: 3.5"L x 2"W x 1.75"H. Weight: 4oz. Made in the USA. ****CAUTION! Never connect the current sensor directly across the battery voltage! The sensor is electrically a SHORT CIRCUIT. Personal injury or damage to the sensor, battery, or wires may result! ****
